DJ History, a new online music store, has launched today (September 19).

The site, which sells downloads of rare vinyl tracks, claims to "do the digging, so you don't have to".

"We'll never be as big as iTunes, but we'll always be more interesting. The store is aimed at DJs, music geeks and anyone who wants great, unknown music,” co-curator Frank Broughton told The Guardian.

The site includes a section called Secret Weapons, a monthly release of tunes that 'DJs normally keep to themselves' and a forum.

Jack White also spoke to the magazine about 'Another Way To Die'.

NEW YORK (AP) — Start the countdown clock on MTV's countdown era: "Total Request Live" will soon shut down after 10 years on the air.

The music video show will conclude in a two-hour special on a Saturday afternoon in November, Dave Sirulnick, executive producer of "TRL," said Monday. He stressed that the show wasn't ending for good, but felt now was the right time to give it a break after an unprecedented run on the cable music channel.

"We want to close this era of `TRL' in a big celebratory way, and 10 is a great number," Sirulnick said. "And 10 is the number that `TRL' counted down every single day for 10 years, and we hit this 10th (anniversary) and we thought, `You know what? This feels like the right time and let's celebrate it and let's reward it. And let's let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute.' Let it catch its breath! Been working hard — for 10 years!"

"TRL" debuted in September 1998 and became the splashy center of the teen pop music scene with Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and other acts. From its heydey until 2008, it's been a destination for musicians, movie stars and celebrities promoting their new music, movies and other projects.

Sirulnick said "TRL" — which airs weekday afternoons from MTV's Times Square studio — lost some luster as it aged. It peaked in 1999 with 757,000 viewers tuning in daily, according to Nielsen Media Research.

"It becomes more of a mainstay and more of an institution than — pardon the pun — the new kid on the block," Sirulnick said.

For the finale, Sirulnick said he hopes to celebrate with many of the "folks who helped make `TRL' what it is — whether that's Justin (Timberlake) and his guys in N'Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Britney, Eminem — I think we would love to see all of them here." That includes former host Carson Daly.

In a statement, Eminem said: "I'm going to miss `TRL.' ... Where else will I be able to start feuds, defend my honor vigorously and act like an angry teenager on national TV? Oh wait ... The VMAs!"

MTV found a replacement of sorts with "FNMTV." The show debuted over the summer in a 15-episode run hosted by Pete Wentz, bassist for rock band Fall Out Boy. Taped in Los Angeles, it aired Friday nights and televised exclusive music videos and performances by such diverse acts as Slipknot and the Jonas Brothers.

MTV said it was bringing "FNMTV" back for another run in mid-November. Like last time, there will be no video countdown with the 10 viewer favorites.

About time. It wasn't so bad in the late 90's even with all the pop music, they at least played the videos. Then they added an audience and started having dumb gimmicky games.

Amy Winehouse is moving to Suffolk. The 'Rehab' singer is set to buy a £750,000 farmhouse in a "sleepy village" in the county as a retreat where she can "battle her demons". Elton John has scrapped a previously-planned duet and tour with Lily Allen following their spat at the GQ Awards last week (September 2).

The pair, who hosted the awards together, exchanged insults and slurs, culminating in Elton telling Lily he could 'snort her under the table'.

Elton now says the spat has put him off collaborating with the 'Smile' singer.

"I was thinking about asking her to tour with me and maybe even do a duet. Obviously that won't be happening," he told the Metro.

On Lily Allen's MySpace blog, however, the singer played down their feud, writing: "Elton and I exchanged jokes and there were no hard feelings at all. In fact, neither of us gave [it] a second thought.

"I'm not defending my drunkenness because I don't need to, I'm 23, it was an awards ceremony, I drank the free champagne, how awful of me."

Amy Winehouse was booed at Bestival this weekend (September 6) after arriving on stage 40 minutes late, marking an ignominious end to the singer's final performance of 2008.

The long delay angered Bestival festival-goers, who had endured high winds and muddy conditions all weekend at the rain-soaked Isle Of Wight bash.

Winehouse's late arrival meant she had to cut her set short, telling the crowd after 35 minutes: "Bestival, I have been told I've got to wrap it up after the next song."

The singer then performed her cover of The Zutons' hit 'Valerie', but cut the song short, telling her band to play 'Rehab' instead.

Adding to revellers' displeasure, the sound on the main stage was unusually quiet, leading to repeated cries of "turn it up!".

Winehouse's late arrival mirrored events at V Festival in Staffordshire (August 16), where she was also booed.

The singer recently pulled out of Rock en Seine in Paris (August 29) just hours before she was due to go onstage, due to illness.

The electro act delighted a huge main stage crowd – the biggest of the weekend – with hits 'Ready For The Floor' and 'Over And Over', as well as a climactic cover of Prince's 'Nothing Compares 2 U', made famous by Sinead O'Connor.

Elsewhere, Florence And The Machine generated an ecstatic crowd response with a set that climaxed with a cover of The Source feat. Candi Staton's 1991 hit 'You Got The Love'.

Torrential rain at Bestival forced organisers to close the BBC Introducing Stage last night (September 5), meaning sets from Sam Sparro, Lykke Li and Black Kids all had to be cancelled.

After a sustained three-hour downpour, the low-lying ground in front of the stage became dangerously water-logged, leaving festival chief Rob da Bank with no choice but to pull the plug.

The Isle Of Wight bash has been plagued by atrocious weather all weekend, including ferocious winds as well as heavy rain, although da Bank remained confident that the harsh conditions would not dim revellers' spirits.

The pal of Lily Allen who was at the centre of a kidnap plot has blasted the singer for speaking out about details of the crime - reportedly branding her actions as "appallingly irresponsible".

Allen praised the action of the police officers who foiled the plot, admitting the incident had left her "terrified" for her pal's safety.

The man, known only as Charlie, was allegedly taken from a sports shop in West London on 2 August, along with a co-worker, after an armed gang raided the store and forced the pair into the trunk of a car.

The organiser of the upcoming Bestival festival has been forced to put a back-up plan in motion in case Amy Winehouse cancels her appearance at the last minute.

The troubled Back To Black hitmaker scrapped her performance at French music festival Rock En Seine in Paris last week just hours before she was due to take to the stage.

The star cited illness as the reason she had to miss the event and she could face legal action from the festival's bosses who had to deal with disgruntled fans expecting to see the singer.

And now, organisers of the Bestival festival on the Isle Of White this weekend have admitted they have already arranged another headliner to step in if Winehouse fails to appear at show as scheduled.

Bestival creator DJ Rob da Bank tells fans in his online blog, "Regarding Amy, simply, I do not have any more info. I am in contact with her agent and manager and we'll know what's happening after the weekend.

"If she can't do the gig, rest assured I do have a very good back-up plan. Have we ever let you down?"

A visibly tipsy Lily Allen got into a profanity-laced verbal spat with Elton John onstage as the two hosted the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London Tuesday night.

As Allen introduced a segment as a "very special point in the evening," according to the The Times of London, John questioned: "What, you are going to have another drink?"

In front of an audience that included Gordon Ramsay, producer Mark Ronson (brother of Samantha) and London mayor Boris Johnson, the 23- year-old pop star shot back, "F--- off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you. I have my whole life ahead of me." To which the 61-year-old John replied, "I could still snort you under the table."

Allen followed the exchange with a crude ad lib when 82-year-old Tony Bennett was presented with the night's Inspiration Award. As John introduced Bennett, pointing out his age, Allen broke in, declaring: "I'll still [have sex with] him."

Five men have been charged in connection with the kidnapping of one of Lily Allen's friends.

Allen's pal, named only as Charlie, was allegedly abducted from his workplace in London in a plot to extort money from his loved ones - leaving the Smile singer "terrified" for his safety.

He was taken from a sports shop in West London on 2 August, along with a co-worker, after an armed gang raided the store and forced the pair into the trunk of a car.

The criminal gang subsequently contacted the pair's families, asking for a ransom of GBP75,000.

They were held hostage for seven days, but eventually rescued by police.

Allen praised the officers involved, saying, "I just want to thank the Met Police. They did an incredible job. He was in the boot of a car being driven around London before he was found. It was all over money."

Six men were arrested in connection with the incident, and four have now been charged with conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to blackmail and false imprisonment. A fifth man was charged with two offences of kidnap and one of robbery, while a sixth was released on bail pending further inquiries.

AMY Winehouse may have brain damage after suffering two major overdoses in the past 12 months where she binged on crystal meth, heroin and cocaine.

The singer also smoked pot in a 36-hour marathon session in July where she suffered such bad convulsions, they were 'like a scene from The Exorcist', a close friend told The Sun.

Now doctors have warned the troubled star that one more overdose will kill her.

Winehouse first overdosed in August last year from cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth.

She was advised to see a psychiatrist after displaying 'multiple personality traits' that made her a suicide risk.

It was following this second overdose in July that doctors are worried her brain was damaged by the cannabis overdose after she displayed symptoms normally associated with schizophrenia.

The Back to Black star inhaled an "inhuman" amount of hash that left her vomiting uncontrollably and hallucinating, according to her pal.

Her loyal father Mitch, 54, said at the time that it was a 'bad reaction to medication', however a close friend refutes this.

"The future is bleak, bleak, bleak," the pal told The Sun.

"Mitch does everything he can to protect his daughter - but his 'explanation' for Amy's hospital dash in July was just simply untrue.

"She had smoked an inhuman amount of hash which resulted in acute cannabis poisoning. You have to take a s***load of pot to to suffer that severe reaction.

"It is thought she had been smoking it for 36 hours.

"Amy's fits were as bad as the convulsions she had during her overdose in August last year.

"No one has mentioned her meth use before - but that stuff is truly nasty.

"She is in need of years of psychiatry and medical treatment if she has a hope."

Meanwhile there is more bad news for the Rehab singer.

She is facing legal action after she pulled out of a concert in Paris just two hours before she was due to headline it.

The troubled star disappointed her fans when she failed to show up at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris after she was taken ill at her house in London at the weekend and was unable to travel to France.

When you're Pete Doherty, you're probably used to almost dying often. Doperty was in Austria this weekend for a scheduled solo performance. However, things didn't go as planned.

Amy Winehouse's hospital dash in July was the result of marijuana poisoning and not a reaction to medication, a tabloid report has claimed.

The Rehab singer was admitted to a London hospital on 28 July after falling ill at her home.

Her representative subsequently released a statement blaming her condition on an adverse reaction to medication she is taking to help kick her drug addiction - which the star's father Mitch has also backed.

But now The Sun newspaper is claiming Winehouse had in fact become sick after allegedly smoking pot for more than a day.

And pals fear Winehouse's reported addictions will leave her needing medical help for years to come.

Allen was out with pals on a boozy night when an unimpressed woman allegedly began to shout at her, calling her a "f**king a**ehole".

Amy Winehouse's mother-in-law has lashed out at the troubled singer's family for allowing her to carry on performing despite being "seriously ill".

Georgette Civil, mum of Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil, has blamed the star's turbulent life and subsequent drug abuse on her family - insisting they should stop her from working in a bid to focus on getting better.

And Civil, who lashed out at the star last month (Aug08) and called for the police to arrest her after the singer was reportedly filmed snorting cocaine at a London party, has taken aim at the star's father Mitch, as well as record label bosses.

She tells the Daily Star newspaper, "Amy has serious health and drug dependency problems but she is pushed into work.

"Her health is more important than prancing around the on stage. I blame her father and record company. People around her have a duty to help her before she ends up dead."

The Back to Black singer could face legal action from organisers of a French music festival after she cancelled her headlining slot at the Rock En Seine gig in Paris on Friday, citing illness as the reason behind the scrapped appearance.

London singer suffers chart fall after the move

Estelle has seen her latest album, 'Shine', and single 'American Boy', plummet in the US charts after they were removed from download site iTunes in the country.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Estelle's record label, Warner, removed the releases from iTunes in an attempt to encourage fans to buy physical copies of them instead – which earn more money for the company.

'American Boy' had been sitting at number 11 in the US Billboard singles chart, but it fell to number 37 following its removal from iTunes.

'Shine' dropped to number 159 in the albums chart, after peaking at number 38.

A spokesperson for Warner said that the move was part of strategies "uniquely tailored to each artist and their fanbase in an effort to optimise revenues and promote long-term artist development".

Katy Perry stays at #1 for a fourth week. She recently had her breasts cast for charity. That's about the most interesting thing I can find to say about it.

The Verve claim their second #1 album, 12 years after their first. Well, 11 years. Or ten years and 11 months if you want to be really exact. If you want to split hairs, this is the first chart-topping album by the original line-up of the band.

"Forth" (see what they did there) naturally contains the current hit and nine further tracks, or eleven on the vinyl version. There's also a CD/DVD combo
with a documentary and some live tracks.

Doherty's notorious band was booked to play at Moonfest in Wiltshire later this month - but local police stepped in and put a stop to the planned appearance, amid fears thousands of youngsters will turn up and cause mayhem.

And the rocker vowed that the show would go on, offering to stage it at his home in nearby Marlborough instead.

But now the Earl of Cardigan - who owns Doherty's country mansion - has stepped into the row, insisting he will not allow the band to play on his property.

In an email to local police, Lord Cardigan says, "Please advise your colleagues that 'Pete's house' is actually Sturmy House. That house is the property of the trustees of Savernake Estate and any such thing would certainly constitute a breach of his lease of our property. So, should Doherty's manager ever plan to carry out his threat, please be advised in advance that there are absolutely no circumstances in which the owners of that house where Doherty lives would ever sanction such a thing."
